Basketball club “Valmiera”, having just 4 wins in 19 matches, is currently in 14 place in the tournament standings of the Latvian-Estonian league.
As well as most LEBL teams, “Valmiera” has three experienced players over 30 years old in its roster, the rest of their basketball players were born in the early 2000s. 19-year-old Ukrainian center Ivan Tokovenko plays for “Valmiera”.The son of the ex-coach of Ukrainian BC “Kyiv”, BC “Donetsk” and BC “Budivelnyk” Igors Miglinieks, Pauls Miglinieks, also plays there. The team also has three legionnaires - from the USA, Slovakia and Bosnia.
As a reminder, on December 23, in Valmiera, “Prometey” won 91:71. Issuf Sanon was the most productive player of that match - 26 points (4 of 5 2-pointers, 3 of 7 3-pointers, 9 of 10 foul throws), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 34 RE.
This will be the last “Prometey” match before the “National teams’ window”, so we are waiting for you on February 16 at the Olympic centre Rimi! The next home game of “Prometey” is scheduled only in one month - on Match 17!
